This workshop is for doll-makers who have achieved a certain degree of competency in face-painting and who wish to further advance their skills. Students will work on several pre-made heads (rounded form but flat painting surface). The main objective of the class is to learn to use tone to describe three dimensional form (i.e. to make a flat surface appear three dimensional). This is one of the most useful skills that a doll-maker can master will elevate your work from "doll" to "masterpiece." This form of painting is known a "trampe l'oel' or "trick the eye". The skills learned in this class are transferable to any style of doll.

This workshop is for doll-makers with some advanced skills. The workshop will be geared toward helping you with your individual project and in using your doll-making skills towards further artistic expression.
The Doll form can be a powerful messenger if you have something to say, this just might be the workshop to help you find your voice. Problems needed to be solved in a class such as this cannot be entirely anticipated and will be dealt with on an individual basis as they occur.
